Celestron 8” Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA 8) (CGE Dovetail)

• Flat field free of optical aberrations like field curvature, coma, astigmatism and chromatic aberration across an entire APS-C sensor.
• Unlike the larger RASAs that work with DSLR and large CCD cameras, the 8” model was designed with color astronomical CMOS cameras, smaller CCD cameras, and mirrorless cameras in mind. The telescope does not work with standard DSLR cameras.
• Ultra-Stable Focus System – precision linear ball bearing virtually eliminates image shift.
• Integrated air cooling system –12V DC MagLev fan reduces cooldown time and provides optimal air flow while filtering out dust.
• Internal filter mount – seamlessly accommodates a Light Pollution Imaging Filter into the optical path.

Combined with the aperture of 300mm and focal length of 1500mm, this scope is great for prime-focus photography. Higher quality images can be achieved with the optional coma corrector.

The aluminum optical tube is fitted with tube vents which features an integrated 95-micron mesh filter that allows hot air to be released from behind the primary mirror. Mirror support knobs hold the mirror in place and reduce image shift during imaging

Versatile design accommodates 2 focal ratios: native f/10 or ultra-fast f/2 imaging with a removable secondary mirror and third-party accessories

Celestron’s premium StarBright XLT coatings provide maximum light transmission

A 9x50 finderscope, 2” mirror diagonal for more comfortable viewing, and wide-angle 23 mm Luminos 2" eyepiece are all included.

For customers wishing to fit solar filters, the outside OTA diameter is 272 mm.

NOTE: For solar viewing the Astrozap Glass Solar filter (Product No. 124446) is recommended.
