Refractors

A refractor telescope is a popular and versatile telescope design that uses lenses to collect and bend light to form an image. Best for compact setups, suitable for both sky and land observing, and even photography. They require very little maintenance and are easy to use. Higher end refractors are favoured by astrophotographers who want a wide field of view. Visual astronomers are less inclined to choose these scopes, as they tend to be too small in aperture, and lower end refractors do not perform as well as reflectors and Cassegrains.
