Smartphone attached to a Swarovski spotting scope with the VPA 2 adapter

Digiscoping with your Swarovski spotting scope

Digiscoping means taking photos and video through your spotting scope. Swarovski's adapters line your phone or camera up with the eyepiece, so you can capture birds and wildlife at distances a normal lens can't reach.

With your phone

The VPA 2 variable phone adapter holds most smartphones over the eyepiece. It's quick to attach and remove in the field. The CA-S adapter is also available for spotting scopes.

Choosing the adapter ring

Use the AR-S ring that suits your scope: ATX/STX or ATS/STS/STR. For BTX and binoculars, use the CA-B clamp adapter.

With a camera

The TLS APO telephoto lens (23, 30 or 43 mm) fits ATX/STX eyepiece modules and turns your scope into a super-telephoto lens. Add the T2 adapter for your camera mount: Canon, Nikon or Micro Four Thirds.

Steady shots

Use a sturdy tripod and head, such as the PCT tripod with the PTH head, and add the BR balance rail when a camera is attached, for sharp results.
