Unleash the power of your smartphone to take you on a guided tour of the night sky—no telescope experience required.

Patent-pending StarSense sky recognition technology uses your smartphone to analyze star patterns overhead and calculate its position in real time. Check phone compatibility here.

StarSense Explorer app automatically generates a list of objects currently visible. View planets, brighter nebulae and galaxies, star clusters, and double stars from the city. Or take your telescope to darker skies to view faint, deep sky objects.

Manual altazimuth mount with smooth, dual-axis slow-motion controls makes it easy to follow the on-screen arrows to your desired target. When the bullseye turns green, it’s ready to view in the telescope’s eyepiece.

80mm refractor with fully coated glass optics for bright, sharp views.

Includes 25mm and 10mm eyepieces, 2x Barlow Lens, StarSense smartphone dock, erect image diagonal, a red dot finderscope (in case you want to use the telescope without your phone), and a full-height tripod.

NOTE: The Starsense telscope uses your smartphone as a navigation device only, not to take photos.

• Double-sided map of the lunar surface highlights key features like craters and maria that you can explore for yourself with your telescope
• Features a directory of the best craters and lunar features with coordinates to find them
• Detailed lunar observing tips and information about key lunar regions on the reverse side of the map
• Lunar topography by renowned lunar cartographer, Ralph Aeschliman
• Map is 24" x 24" for easy reading or display, but folds to just 8" x 4" for easy transport to your observing site
• Map is waterproof and tear resistant

Celestron has reinvented the Dobsonian telescope with StarSense Explorer—the first Dobsonian that uses your smartphone to analyze the night sky and calculate its position in real-time.

Unleash the power of your smartphone to take you on a guided tour of the night

A sturdy, Dobsonian-style base with large diameter bearings and variable altitude tensioning makes it easy to follow the on-screen arrows on your smartphone to your desired target.

The Starsense telscope uses your smartphone as a navigation device only, not to take photos.

NOTE: to protect your scope optics from dust, spiders and other liittle pesky bugs in storage, we recommend the Pegasus 10" Dust cover for the bottom of your scope. (Product Number 126686)

• Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Optical Design – 8” f/2.2 flat field imaging system with rare-earth glass for outstanding images free of optical defects like field curvature, coma, astigmatism and chromatic aberration across an entire APS-C sensor.
• Unlike the larger RASAs that work with DSLR and large CCD cameras, the 8” model was designed with color astronomical CMOS cameras, smaller CCD cameras, and mirrorless cameras in mind. The astrograph does not work with standard DSLR cameras.
• Ultra-Stable Focus System – precision linear ball bearing virtually eliminates image shift.
• Integrated air-cooling system –12V DC MagLev fan reduces cooldown time and provides optimal air flow while filtering out dust.
• Internal filter mount – seamlessly accommodates a Light Pollution Imaging Filter into the optical path.
• Performs over a wider spectral range than most telescopes, from 400-800 nm, so more of the light passing through the astrograph is in sharp focus.
• Advanced VX, the most compact and portable of Celestron’s German equatorial mounts, offers a maximum instrument capacity of 30 lb with the same rigidity as our larger mounts and minimal flexure.
• This mount offers every feature an astroimager wants: PEC, an autoguider port, the ability to image across the meridian, and more.
• Dual saddle plate is compatible with narrow CG-5 dovetails and wider CGE dovetail. Also compatible with Vixen format dovetails longer than 100mm, but not compatible with Losmandy D format plates.
• Accessories included: M42 camera adapter, C-thread camera adapter, and fan battery pack.

• Explore the Universe and control your NexStar Evolution telescope with the free Celestron SkyPortal app for iOS and Android!
• Portable 9.25-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube with StarBright XLT optical coatings and Fastar compatibility
• Computerized GoTo mount with high-performance worm gears and motors for improved tracking accuracy, along with reduced gear backlash
• Rechargeable lithium-iron phosphate battery with enough power for 10 hours of continuous observing
• Improved industrial design with manual clutches and integrated carry handles, plus the added convenience of two accessory trays and a USB charge port for your smart device
