Unleash the power of your smartphone to take you on a guided tour of the night sky—no telescope experience required.

Patent-pending StarSense sky recognition technology uses your smartphone to analyze star patterns overhead and calculate its position in real time. Check phone compatibility here.

NOTE: The Starsense telscope uses your smartphone as a navigation device only, not to take photos.

• Celestron’s iconic “orange tube” design is updated with all the latest features to provide the best stargazing experience for beginners and experienced observers alike.
• 4-inch aperture provides excellent light-gathering ability at an affordable price. You’ll get impressive views of the Moon and planets, along with deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula, while retaining a compact form factor.
• Fully automated GoTo mount with database of 40,000+ celestial objects automatically locates and tracks objects for you.
• SkyAlign technology gets your telescope aligned and ready to observe in minutes. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the night sky, you can easily align your telescope on any three bright objects.
• Unique single fork arm design and sturdy steel tripod all break down into separate components for easy transport and quick assembly.

The 6” Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube offers 40% more light gathering ability than a 5” telescope. The Schmidt-Cassegrain design also eliminates chromatic aberration, making it a good choice for entry-level astroimaging.

NOTE: The recommended solar filters for this scope for solar observing are;

- the Orion 185 mm (7.17") Glass Solar Filter (Product No. 125081) or

- the Meade Glass White Light Solar Filter 172 - 180 mm (Product No. 125918).
