Buy Discounted Equipment for Club Use
Clubs can purchase equipment for club use at a 10% discount. Contact us for a quote.
Due to the lack of interest in the club discounts, we are now switching all customers to our new loyalty scheme that rewards individual customers so the club membership no longer offers overall discounts to membership card holders.
Attract New Members
Attract new members to join your club by offering a welcome package that includes goodies and vouchers. Typical welcome packages can include: a poster, stickers, postcards, eclipse glasses, promotional gifts, and Sirius Optics voucher.
The vouchers are offered free of charge for up to 50% of the membership fee, is valid for 1 year and is non-transferable. For other items, please contact us with your idea and we can give you a quote.
Encourage Members to Keep their Membership Current
A common problem that many clubs have is getting people to renew their financial membership.
Encourage members to keep their financial membership current by offering a voucher that is worth up to 50% of their membership renewal fee. These vouchers are valid for 1 year and are non-transferable. This service is free of charge.
Book Us for a Presentation/Talk
We are astronomers too and like to share and talk about astronomy. We have a few presentations that you might be interested in if you need a speaker for your next meeting. We are only able to go to your club meeting outside of trading hours and within reasonable range of the Brisbane area. This service is free of charge.
If there is a topic you would like us to cover, please contact us with your idea.
Astronomy presentations: general astronomy topics
Aurora Chasing in Finland
Our most popular presentation debuted at the Brisbane Astronomical Society and includes many original photos and time-lapse videos of the Auroras in Finnish Lapland by Cheryl-Ann and Ashley. Learn about how the Aurora is formed, how to capture them and plan your next trip to the Arctic Circle. This presentation requires a high-quality projector or monitor screen, and audio. Runs for 20 min to 45 min, depending on your needs.
The Equipment Presentations came about from an idea/request by the Scenic Rim Astronomy Association and are about new and notable consumer astronomy products on the market. We will bring the equipment we are presenting and demonstrate how to use them and answer any questions about them. These presentations include PowerPoint that can be used in a meeting/lecture room, but also can be done in the field with hand-outs. Each presentation lasts about 10 to 20 min.
The following presentations are available:
Skywatcher Star Adventurer
Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 Mount
Coronado SolarMax 60 Solarscope
If you want a presentation on a specific item not listed here, please let us know.
